The Seabourn Academy

Attention: open in a new window. E-mail

Over a period of 3-4 weeks our Seabourn Academy will provide the trainees with the knowledge and skills that they will need to carry out their duties on one of our ships as part of a team of dedicated professionals.

The academy is not another school which “teaches” our cadets to be great waiters, bar waiters or stewardesses as they are already by being selected though our rigorous recruitment team, but to familiarize our trainees to life at sea and to facilitate our specific standards and procedures to the trainees.

Seabourn Academy’s training is centered on both practical and theoretical parts. The more the trainees contribute and participate to their training the more benefit they will receive. The onboard Personnel and Training Managers have a wealth of experience within our company. They want all to succeed and they will be a valuable source of information and guidance.

Aside of the compulsory safety, environmental and health training, the trainees will; on the first week, be guided through the company and ship specifics and also be introduced to Seabourn Culture.

On the second week, trainees will be introduced to the Seabourn standards in their relevant department with a series of theoretical and practical training.

Each trainee will be shadowing an experience crew member of their respective teams through all aspect of the profession in all outlets.

After this short period, the trainees will slowly take part in all activities as a team member and will gain more involvement.

The performance of the trainees will be assessed on a weekly basis by their Head of Department and the Personnel and Training Manager through a one to one session.

By the end of the four weeks, the trainees will be graduated and will commence his journey within the Seabourn Family.
