Daniel Putzhammer – Maitre D’Hotel
Hi I'm Daniel and am the Maitre D'Hotel on board. I've worked with Seabourn for a little more that 3 years now and I'm from Germany.
I was attracted to a cruise job on board Seabourn because of the opportunities to see the world, to travel and to work with different people, different nationalities to meet a lot of different guests and of course, to work in a five star plus environment.
I am responsible for the restaurant on board. So the starters, breakfasts in the mornings, lunches and the dinner service which is the most important service operation we have on board because that is what Seabourn is known for, that is what our guests expect, a high level of service and of course the high quality of food which always belongs together. I am responsible to maintain the high standard for all service operations, together with a team that includes around 30 employees.
The atmosphere and the working environment on board is very good. We are very small team with very few guests so when any issues appear, you can solve them right away. The possibilities and the opportunities to grow very fast, makes Seabourn a very good employer. You can move up, you can grow up. You get a lot of assistance in growing up, you get a lot of training, you develop yourself and of course you are able to reach higher positions.
